Although I have not tested the advertised continuous run time of 40–55 minutes in one go, time spent using it roughly addd up to that and it has definitely exceeded the 30-minute run time of many popular cordless mowers. Ease of use Having the choice to go between various heights is big advantage for people looking to achieve a healthy and vibrant lawn, as you can easily adjust the heights to accommodate the lawn’s condition throughout the year, whether it’s short, long, or somewhere in-between. Usability The mower arrives with the mulching plug attached. To use the bag, remove the mulching plug first for the mower to bag properly. I had to look hard to find faults with this lawn mower, so I would definitely recommend buying the Worx WG779E and this is why I have given it five stars. The battery life is great and it has more than enough power for the job. When you consider its size and price point, that is no mean feat.

Once the height has been reduced to 30mm it is already at the maximum permitted height for a further reduction down to 20mm. So you either cut it again immediately – which also breaks the rule as it is like going from the height it was at before the reduction to 30mm all the way down to 20mm but in just one cut – or you wait until it has grown higher than 30mm when it is too long to reduce it to 20mm anyway! The WG779E.2 is fitted with a dual battery system, using two 20V 2Ah lithium batteries to produce 40V of cutting power. This translates to around 30 minutes of runtime, making the for smaller gardens with lawns up to 200m2, while there is a two hour charge time, which is on the longer side. Do you like a striped lawn? Well the WORX does have a roller at the rear that gives that lovely striped look to your lawn. The roller also has suspension allowing it to adapt better to the contours of your lawn. This is another advantage over the Flymo 300 – if you like striped lawns that is! With a grass box capacity of 30 litres, you may not be able to get a better deal for a cordless mower. This means you won’t have to experience frequent box evacuations when working for a longer period. The grass box had an indicator so that it will be easier for you to monitor its progress. It is easy to remove, you only need to lift the flap and unhook it. PracticalitiesThe rotary blades are made from steel which is an extremely durable metal so you know that, even if you run into an unexpected obstacle, you’re not running the risk of causing any significant damage. Once you’re fully charged and ready to go, the WORX WG743E.1 will cut up to 500m². Features In Detail Blades The grass box does come with a indicator flap to show you when the grass box is full, this is a nice handy feature from WORX. You can easily change the cutting height from two centimetres up to seven centimetres, using a handle by the front wheels. My lawn was a little overgrown before the first use, so to avoid battling with long grass, I set the mower to it's highest length to trim it ahead of trying a lower grade. This was unnecessary based on use since – the mower makes light work of even dense couch grass and weeds that have been left to run wild. The consensus among other reviewers is that this is a great mower for the price, comparing well with much more expensive cordless models and not significantly more than corded or petrol mowers either. Gardeners World also granted it a Best Buy badge.

On the contrary, as someone who has reviewed a few cordless mowers, the WG779E.2 outperforms its competitors in this department. The mower comes with two 2.0A or 4.0A batteries, and both are interchangeable with other Worx products, which is a nice bonus if you’re already invested in their power tool range. It isn’t as compact as some cordless mowers and doesn’t fold as neatly as the fantastically foldable Flymo EasiStore 340R Li. However, you can still relax the bolts on the top half of the handle and fold it over the lower half for storage. At roughly 12kg in weight, it’s also an easy mower to heft around: just grab the chunky orange handle in the centre and you’re good to go. This is a great selling point for many UK buyers, as weather conditions mean we often need to leave the grass to grow longer before its suitable to mow it. Knowing this mower handles longer grass with ease is a good sign for any buyer based in the UK.To maximize battery run time, set the mower to eco mode. This should give you an average of 45 minutes of battery life. The on-board battery charge indicator lets you know exactly how much power you have left before you need to recharge As with all smaller cordless lawn mowers the grass box is not going to hold as much grass cuttings as its larger counterparts, however 30 litres is a comparable for a mower of this size. 30 Litres allows longer periods of use without needing to empty grass clippings as often.

If you’re conscious about how eco-friendly your tools are then you’ll be pleased to discover that this product gives off zero emissions and even better, its ultra-quiet function means that noise pollution is kept to a minimum too.It is recommended to use a damp cloth to clean the mower. It is not advisable to spray the mower directly with water.
