The fit on the bridge of my foot felt a little too snug at first, but once I started moving, I was pleasantly surprised at how the gusseted tongue and laces flexed as my foot did, allowing for a nice smooth transition by preventing any restriction, rubbing or tightness. I knew from experience Brooks trainers take a little longer to break-in. The drop was also evident, it is a 12mm drop in both the mens and womens.

For those runners who are unfamiliar with the guide rail support system, you have two guide rails on both sides of the foot (a longer medial one, a shorter lateral one) that balance your foot as you run, similar to bumpers in bowling. The grip was definitely better on loose surfaces than it was on wet surfaces, but was pretty good on both. The first time I tried on the Adrenaline 21, two things stood out to me: the snug fit and the firm underfoot. The FitPriced at 130 dollars, the Brooks Adrenaline is worth every penny. They provided me with countless comfortable miles because of the execution of all aspects. The transition of the shoe also feels smoother than the previous Adrenaline GTS 19 and 20 models that I’ve tried, partly thanks to the added cushioning. One aspect of the shoe I liked was the width. It isn’t a tailored fit but it gives your feet room to feel and splay out naturally. This natural feeling is extended to the engineered mesh because of its flexibility. DNA LOFT cushioning now extends throughout the midsole for an even smoother transition from heel to toe Segmented crash pad flexes with the foot, offering customized cushioning and stability for a smooth heel-to-toe transition.

I bought the shoe in one of Switzerland/Europa’s largest shop and online sport retailers and there where sold out before weeks. Believing that the ‘correct’ way to run is simply your natural way, Brooks developed their Guiderail technology to support those with a tendency to overpronation and heel strikers, hoping to keep them safe from injury whilst allowing them to keep running in their own way. I joked with my running friends that they are my “dad shoes” because they look like a pair my dad would wear along with me now being the father of two little ones. If you’re familiar with and/or a fan of the Adrenaline 21 you don’t need to read the rest of this review; it’s the same excellent shoe it’s always been. If you’re new to the model it’s a wonderfully cushioned, almost old-school running shoe that has a high heel to toe drop (12mm), weighs a little on the heavy side and is generally the perfect long-run shoe for those who simply want the most reliability and the least fuss for their long runs. Lofty ambitionOverall, the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21 is perfect for those looking for a versatile daily running shoe. Flexible, snug, stable, and durable, it performs superbly for your easy miles, long distances, and fares well on various terrains. Blown rubber is found on the outsole of the Adrenaline. It is built to last hundreds of miles. Omega flex grooves are strategically placed on the outsole to give flexibility to the shoes. I have/had Adrenalin GTS 19/20 and now bought a pair of Adrenalin GTS 21 US12/46EU size (Blue/Red color). Never used first once on both feet. If I slight put weight on the toes the TOE Box mesh material collapses on both sides (Only left shoe). My real foot size is 28.5CM so the 12″ is 1.5″ Size above. There is enough room for the toes. Guide Rails support shifts the focus from the feet to the knees. The holistic support system reduces excess movement so your knees and hips can move more naturally to keep you running comfortably and to keep injury at bay.

This model is one of Brooks’ medium cushion,stability shoes. While not made for speedy sprints, the stability and responsivity mean the Adrenaline 21 is built to withstand countless miles, including your everyday runs and training for marathons. Alongside the Ghost, it’s one of Brooks’ best-selling shoes – and for good reason. Secondly, the upper has been re-engineered to bring about two things: 1) to be more breathable, and 2) to give a bit more solidity and structure to the midfoot to hold the foot in place better. We loved this. It stretched just enough to allow for freedom of movement but retained enough shape that any unwanted lateral movement sense of bagginess was never an issue. It’s a change that is welcome because, while the Adrenaline has always been a very comfortable shoe, the upper was an area that needed a little tweaking to make it contribute a bit more rather than just sitting on top of the midsole. Mild stability As mentioned, this is a daily trainer slightly on the heavier side, which isn’t built to encourage you to move at a high pace. So if you’re looking for shoes best for speed runs, this probably isn’t the one for you.
